been stuck in bed for the last five days struck down with a fever. got outside a couple times to go to school, but other than that i've mostly been laid horizontal underneath many layers and shut in from the rest of the world passing by. you'll be glad to know that i'm feeling much better today, not quite 100 percent but more like 93. lying in bed afforded me time to catch up on some reading (almost finished with 'in cold blood' which is both chilling and thrilling), spend quality time with the cats, watch the winter olympics (short track speed skating is my new favorite sport), and cruise the aimless roadways of the information superhighway. came across this funny comedian, who poses as a republican senator from ohio, while looking at this other more famous comedians site. another click to funny is this clever site that can be read as both humorous and offensive. and how cool is this little animated thing from japan. those japanese! and did you know that conan o'brien is like a rock star in finland. check out this finnish tv footage of the ladies going crazy. ah, the things you can find. endless really. no, really.
i also found this great song by karl blau. blau is associated with that whole scene up in anacortes, wa. and has played with little wings, microphones, mount eerie, thanksgiving, etc. i read somewhere that for this song he basically had this african pop track that his friend had given him some years back, transfered the recording directly onto tape for the first track and then just tracked over it eventually removing the original and adding his own lyrics and extra little weird noodlings. kinda like tracing a picture. this other blog had the right idea when they said it sounds like a hidden track off paul simon's 'graceland' (albeit much more stoned and goofed), which is not a bad thing at all.

this is a sweet little song- the beginning has traces of the dominican republic. makes you want to get out of bed, huh? 1% with each bounce until you're 100%.
