can't buy a thrillLISTEN/reelin' in the yearshello! glad to report that i'm in good spirits once again. had a fantastic week starting with our birthday celebrations (pj's is the day after mine) last weekend, thanks to everyone who sent happy birthday wishes and helped make this turning one of the best yet. and then spring decides to say an early hello and reward us with two bee-yoo-tee-ful days in a row. it's been too long since i've felt the sun at 73 degrees. winter is on its last legs, and springs official inception is just a little over a week away. outdoor barbeques, frisbee in the park, layin' out with a book and a tallboy, rooftop parties, camping trips on the weekends... so looking forward.
this entries music post is a song that came up a couple times last weekend, first at the belle and sebastian after party at royal oak (lame!) and then a drunkenly superb karaoke version by mitch and jenny at congee village the next nite. i know i've heard this song a dozen times in my life but never really picked up on how brilliant it was until it played on the dancefloor and over the loudspeakers at royal oak that nite. at first i thought it was thin lizzy (not so far off a mistake in my opinion, but listening to it again, donald fagen doesn't sound much like phil lynott). now that i like steely dan does this mean i'm officially over the hill?
